DRAMA AUDITIONS
Calling all actors! While you were enjoying the summer sun, we were thinking snowflakes and icicles while planning the Christmas Production. This year we'll present an original drama written and directed by our own Bert Williams. Cast auditions will be held Tuesday, September 9, 7:00 p.m. in the chapel.
SUNDAY SCHOOL FOR ADULTS
We'll begin a new series September 7 based on the book,
Hell? Yes. Seven Outrageous Truths You Can Still Believe. In this series we will be discussing issues that will challenge us as believers to stop apologizing for and start proclaiming the tough but essential truths that Christians have historically embraced. If you are ready to stand up and compassionately yet forcefully and intelligently say, "This is what I believe and here's why" then be in class the month of September.
WEDNESDAY ELECTIVE CLASSES
September 10 begins a three-week special elective class called
The Bible and The Constitution. It will be held in the Single Alliance Auditorium, located on the lower level of the Grace Kids building, during the regular Wednesday evening service time of 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Bill Wetterman and Sherry Dunbar will be the instructors. Topics to be covered are:
- What Does God's Word Say About a Christian's Attitude Toward Government?
- What Christian Principles Should Govern How We Vote?
- Are Christians Influenced by the Word or the Headlines?
- What Issues Should Christians Be Focused On Today, and How Can We Make a Difference?
BUSINESS LEADERS BREAKFAST
After a summer break, the Business Leaders Breakfast will start again at 7:00 a.m. Thursday, September 11, with Jay Betz as guest speaker. An accomplished business and finance executive, Jay most recently served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer for a fast growing, privately held supplier of engineered parts and assemblies, serving some of the largest manufacturers in the world. Previously, he served as an officer of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group and was a member of the executive management team responsible for the formulation and implementation of company strategy that resulted in unprecedented growth and profitability.
WEEKLY PRAYER
The chapel is open from 10 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. daily for Intercessory Prayer. Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. - noon, prayer is led by Kay Tedford. Every Friday at 6:00 a.m. in the Chapel, a time of prayer is led by Pastor Bob and staff members.
GRACE CHURCH GOES LIVE ON THE INTERNET!
We are now streaming the Sunday morning services on the Internet. If you cannot attend service, go online at 8:30 or 11:15 a.m. central time and join the congregation in worship - from the first song, through the offering, and into the teaching of the Word.
There is no charge; all you need is Internet Explorer. Go to www.gracetulsa.com or
click here. You can also pay tithe or make a donation online.
Live streaming is another way to get the excellent teaching of God's Word out to the world, to our missionaries in foreign countries, to people who cannot leave their home to attend church, and to anyone who just wants to experience what Grace members already know"teaching that builds faith, gives hope, and prepares you for life."
EMPLOYMENT
The Operations Department has openings for 2nd shift custodians. These are full time positions with benefits, including tuition discounts. Call 252-1611, extension 5153 or apply at the church office.
