| Getting Started |
Grace Church seeks to provide a safe, secure environment for members of all ages to worship. One way we achieve this is through a volunteer application procedure.
All volunteers must first be a member of Grace. It’s easy and convenient! Come back to the hospitality room after the Sunday service and meet Pastor Bob, some of the staff, and other congregation members. You’ll receive a DVD that explains the church vision, government, and stewardship values. You’ll also learn of the many areas of the church where you can “get connected”!
To serve in any area of the church, complete an application which includes written permission to conduct a background check. Application and background check information is kept in the strictest confidence.
Upon approval, you will be contacted by the supervisor of the area in which you wish to serve. Some areas require a short time of training alongside another experienced
volunteer. Certain programs in the counseling department require a more extensive instruction. Contact the department of the area you’re interested in for more information on their requirements. |
| Connect |
| A large church is made up of many small communities of believers who come together to worship one Lord. People of all ages have a God-given need for healthy relationships with other believers. These can be developed by discovering common interests in a Sunday School class, learning more about our faith together, or supporting one another in a time of personal crises. We want every person attending Grace to connect with the heart of the church; to feel at home and know they belong. |
Business Leaders Fellowship People in business leadership meet for breakfast once a month to encourage one another as they share testimonies of how God is working in their lives and companies, pray together, and hear an inspiring word from a guest speaker.
Foundations of Grace This is a series of classes designed to establish any believer at any stage in their spiritual growth in the foundational teachings of the Bible.
Ladies Ministry The Graceful Ladies meet once a month for times of fellowship and fun. Guest speakers, dinners, retreats, and community outreaches provide opportunities for the women of Grace to form close friendships with each other.
Men’s Ministry As “iron sharpens iron” the Men of Vision strengthen and encourage one another in their walk with the Lord through fellowship breakfasts, teaching from the Word, and just guy time. Fathers, bring your sons. Sons, bring your fathers and enjoy some great male bonding around the things of God.
Single Alliance The single adults meet weekly during the Sunday School hour. Several activities are planned each month to provide a fun, relaxing and creative environment for singles to fellowship together as they grow in their faith.
Sunday School for Adults Building Faith, Finding Friends, Creating Community, that’s what it’s all about. A time to discuss the Word of God; a time to meet other believers and develop friendships around shared interests, and a place where community is created as people take care of each other. It’s like small groups on Sunday morning! With many classes to choose from, we’re sure you’ll find one that’s right for you.
Youth In a state-of-the-art facility designed just for them, the next generation of leaders can meet together, play games, and worship as loud as they want! There are plenty of planned activities in addition to small groups and services designed for junior & senior high. Stop by the Edge for details and check it out!

| Serve |
| Serving God by serving people. It’s part of the mission statement Grace was built upon, “…training the saints to do the work of the ministry.” Our desire is to help people get involved in God’s work in this world. We want to equip you with the skills, provide you with opportunities, and strengthen you spiritually, so you can fulfill your purpose and glorify God. Most of the serving ministries have a volunteer coordinator who oversees training and scheduling, and makes sure information is communicated. In many areas, the commitment is light – generally just one or two services a month. |
Ambassadors Commissioned by the church leadership to serve as representatives of Grace, the Ambassadors provide a caring, personal connection in the main service to both visitors and members. They are available to answer questions, pray with people, or help a guest find their way around the campus.
Bob & Loretta’s Soda Shoppe Serving up ice cream is a sure way to make someone smile. The young and the young at heart will be blessed by your scooping abilities and you get a free cup of ice cream!
Children’s Carousel The carousel operators quite possibly have the most fun job in the church, but they take it very seriously. Training is provided and the sound of joyful children is guaranteed!
Communion Servers Communion is celebrated at Grace the first Sunday of the month. Volunteers have the honor of serving the congregation while celebrating the Lord’s Supper together. You may volunteer at the service you normally attend and/or help with set up or clean up.
Connecting Point This is information central, the “go-to” place for everything one wants to know about the church, various ministries, and special events. Volunteers don’t have to know it all, but they do know where to find it. At The Connecting Point, we have brochures, flyers, the latest church newsletter, found Bibles & other items; plus tickets and registration for special events.
Greeters With just a friendly smile and a warm handshake, you can set the stage for people to have a great worship experience as soon as they arrive at the front door. Qualifications: be good at making a great first impression!
Helping Hands Ministry When a family is dealing with the loss of a loved one, Helping Hands are there to provide a reception after the funeral or memorial service where they can fellowship without the stress of preparation. You may assist by providing one of the menu items, serving at the reception or both. Servers should plan to be available 2 1/2—3 hours during a morning or afternoon reception.
Hospital Ministry People who are filled with compassion and mature in the Word of God volunteer one day or evening per week to minister to those in the hospital who have requested prayer.
Hospitality Ministry Do you love to make people feel welcome in your home? Then you just might enjoy making guests feel welcome at Grace! You’ll greet visitors and new members after the service in the hospitality room, offer coffee and homemade cookies, and make them comfortable while introducing them to Pastor Bob and some of the church staff.
Makeover Teams Your skills can put action to words and show the community that Christians are “doers of the Word.” The Makeover Teams help folks who aren’t able to do minor repairs on their homes. If you have a skill, supplies, equipment, or a few hours a month, you can be a blessing to someone in need and a powerful witness for Jesus.
Media Team If you like working behind the scenes, we’d love to have you join the Media Team. Whether operating a camera, the song screen, or being involved in seasonal productions, we can train you to help us fulfill our motto of “creating an environment for worship.”
Set Down Team Four dedicated teams rotate working one Saturday morning per month to create the great sea of auditorium chairs for Sunday services. Enjoying fellowship while working together, the Set Down Team provides a valuable service to the congregation.

Ushers This is a position of servanthood leadership. The ushers serve by helping people find seats, assist in the prayer line, at baptisms and funerals. They have the responsibility of collecting the offering and assist in ministry by maintaining a sense of order in the service.
Worship Arts Ministry Skillful musicians with a heart of worship are a key part of the worship experience at Grace. Open auditions for choir and band are held in January and August. Rehearsal is held after the Wednesday evening service. Other areas for the artist to find expression include the lobby band, seasonal choir & orchestra, drama, and production crew. |

| Doing “the work of the ministry” results in making an impact on the world around you. The world around you is the local church body, your family, neighborhood, and job. It extends beyond our nation’s borders. Whether it’s through prayer, counseling, local outreach, or a short term missions trip, you will be the hands and feet, the heart of Jesus, when you take the Word you learn weekly and apply it to serve others. |
Children’s Ministry If you have a heart for children and enjoy watching their faith grow, we have a place for you at Grace Kids. We won’t just throw you in the water - you’ll receive training under an experienced team leader and attend additional training sessions throughout the year to develop your ministry skills. Team members serve twice a month at the service of their choice.
Youth Ministry Do you live life on the Edge? No? That’s ok. You don’t have to be an Xtreme sports athlete to serve Jesus by serving the Edge Youth. Just have a heart for the Lord and for His people. You could help with sound, lights, work in the coffee shop, or just be a listening ear for a young person in Junior High or High School. Stop by the Edge Youth building and check it out.
